Life-Changing Journey to Guatemala

Thank you to Bryan Little for his interesting presentation on Guatemala yesterday and for his inspirational thoughts. One of the things he spoke about was how moved he was by the sincere, deep appreciation people had in receiving even the smallest gifts of flashlights, photos, or any toy in any type of condition.

What are some ideas you have or opportunities you see in your own life for making a positive impact, small or large, in someone else’s life? Share your thoughts on the CCC blog by clicking below and adding a comment to this message...

He traveled to a number of places around the country and had the opportunity to talk with and make personal connections with Iranians from many different backgrounds. This presentation will use digital slides, stories and experiences to bring to life the people beyond the rhetoric and connect you with an amazingly rich and vibrant culture.

Duke Duchscherer is a Certified Trainer with the International Center for Nonviolent Communication. Duke's training and experience reflects a growing level of capability integrating Nonviolent Communication (NVC) in areas of peacebuilding, conflict transformation, trauma healing, restorative processes and reconciliation. This experience is reflected in his work with a depth and breadth of peoples and groups from the grassroots to the United Nations on four continents.

September is...

A new posting subject that we’re working on is through the site http://www.brownielocks.com/...

Did you know that many causes, groups, hobbies, and cultural groups may have their own day, week, or month every year? The above site shows what each holiday/celebration is.

September is… (A partial list)

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Month

Great American Low-Cholesterol, Low-Fat Pizza Bake Month

International Self-Awareness Month

National Chicken Month

Subliminal Communications Month (Suddenly a tub of buttery popcorn sounds good, huh? You are getting sleepy!)

National Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15-October 15)

How will you celebrate??

Get inspired!

“A Man Named Pearl is the first film in George Eastman House’s Human Spirit Series, a nine-program series exploring the individual’s power to make positive contributions to the lives of others…. Within each of us is the power to affect positive changes in the lives of people closest to us and within our communities. We can also influence our culture and the greater world around us….”

This inspirational film plays this weekend at The Dryden Theatre – check it out!
